Testing Wi-Fi Strength

You have two options for testing the wireless network. One is on the recreation laptop, or another laptop you may have. The second option is through the speed test app on a smartphone or tablet.

  1. Go to www.google.com
  2. Type in speed test in the Google Search

  1. Click on RUN SPEED TEST. It’ll start the test by itself.
  2. You will see this image below when it finishes.

If your speed test shows anything over 10Mbps for the upload and download, your speeds are fine in that location. If a specific device isn’t working, it might be that device.

Method two using Smart Phone or Tablet

  1. Go to the App Store, or Google Play store on your Apple, or Android device.
  2. Search Speed test by Ookla and download it.
  3. Once downloaded, please open the App.
  4. Click on Go. The test will start by itself.
  5. If you receive anything over 10Mbps for the download and update, your Wi-Fi is working fine and the residents equipment could be to blame.
